Cost is contingent upon your phone plan and wireless service provider.
  • Need help with our resources but the library is closed? Niche Academy offers tutorials for many of our databases, eCollections, as well as other online services such as email and social media. These tutorials are available on-demand any time!

Change my PIN?

  • Why PINs? During the first week of January 2017, the Gloucester County Library System implemented the use of PIN numbers along with the library card number to sign in to most library services. PIN numbers provide an additional layer of security to your personal information. For example, a PIN number protects your bank debit card and helps to prevent unauthorized access to your account. A library card PIN number provides the same type of protection from unauthorized use and access to your personal information.
  • What is my PIN? By default, the PIN will be the last 4 digits of your library card number. We strongly recommend changing your PIN.
  • How do I change or reset my PIN? GCLS strongly recommends that library patrons change their initial default PIN number to one that is meaningful to them. Your PIN can be comprised of numbers or letters. You can log into the online catalog to change your PIN using these steps:
    • 1. Click on Log In – locating in the blue bar at the top of the screen.
    • 2. Click on the red Forgot My PIN text.
    • 3. Enter your library card number and click Submit. This will send you an email with a link to change your PIN.
    • 4. Go to your email and click on the link you received. Enter your library card number and new PIN of your choice and click on Save Changes.
    • You may also visit any GCLS library in person to change your PIN number with staff assistance and appropriate ID.
  • Still having trouble? Please contact the reference desk at 856-223-6050 or email reference@gcls.org for assistance. Please note that a PIN cannot be retrieved or changed by staff without appropriate identification.

Check my account?

GCLS has implemented automatic renewals for most GCLS materials! This means that on the due date, the items will renew themselves and, if there is an email associated with your library account, you will get an email letting you know that they did.

Please note: some materials cannot be automatically renewed. This includes materials borrowed from LOGIN consortium libraries, museum passes, 3 day DVDs, hotspots, and other materials. Items on hold and items that have already been renewed twice cannot be renewed.

Checking your Account:

In the library catalog, locate the My Account link in the blue toolbar at the top of the screen. Click it, and a login window will pop up. Enter your library card number and PIN in order to access your account.

After logging in, you’ll see a preview on the right side of the screen showing you how many checkouts you have out, how many holds you have placed, and how much you owe in fines. You can view everything in greater details by clicking on the grey tabs in the center of the screen.

Become a GCLS volunteer?

How to volunteer:

Download and fill out our Volunteer Application and return it to to any GCLS Branch Library.

Volunteer application forms are also available at each library branch.

Special care is taken to match each person’s skills and interests with the library’s needs. Training is provided in the area of service that is selected.

Library volunteers can:

  • Connect with your community
  • Meet new friends
  • Learn new skills
  • Provide valuable services
  • Make a difference!

A variety of tasks are available for library volunteers. For most volunteer positions the commitment is 1 to 3 hours, one day per week. Adult volunteers must be 18  years or older.

Why does the library need volunteers?

Volunteers bring the library enthusiasm, energy, added talents, and a fresh perspective. They enhance, rather than replace adequate staffing. They enrich the library’s offerings, rather than provide basic service. Volunteer service helps the library make the best use of its fiscal resources. Volunteers are liaisons to the community and by their contribution are advocates for quality library service.
